Best Golf Clubs For Tall Men 6’ & Up

As a tall man, have you ever tried to play golf with regular golf clubs?

If not, trust me - don’t bother!

You will have a deeper crouch in your swing because your wrists will be closer to the ground, and this is all wrong. Not only do you risk a bad shot, but you also risk embarrassment too.

The solution of course is to get yourself a set of golf clubs that’s specifically designed for someone of your sort of height.

And the good news is that we’ve been checking out some of the best golf clubs for tall men out on the market today. After much deliberation we were able to handpick our top 5 favorite sets, and we’re going to be reviewing them here for you today.

Following on from that, we’ve also got a handy buying guide for you which lays out some key things to think about before you buy.

And without further ado…

Now, this golf set comes from a top brand that’s been around for over 100 years.

But despite that, we would argue that it’s good value for money because you get 10 good quality clubs for under $500. The clubs all perform very well, are comfortable for tall men if you buy the right size, and are built to last.

These clubs include a high-end driver, a number 5 fairway wood with graphite shaft, an easy-to-hit  number 5 hybrid, again with graphite shaft, a heel/toe head-shaped putter, and a selection of irons with steel shafts, from number six through to sand wedges.

What we love about these golf clubs is how their lower center of gravity makes for better control and gives you not only a better launch trajectory but also longer distances on your shots.

We also love how the hybrid features a large sweet spot, so you can shoot a better distance.

And the irons have a large sweet spot too, thanks to their being perimeter weighted. And the result? Better shots every time. Even if you hit off center!

You also get 3 matching head covers and a premium stand bag to keep all the clubs in.

It comes in different colors, and it also comes in both right and left-handed.

Remember to ensure that you have selected the tall carry size if you decide to buy this particular set.

  • Popular high end brand
  • Good value for money
  • Hybrid has large sweet spot
  • Selection of different irons
  • Clubs have low center of gravity

  • The bag doesn’t come with a rain cover

Now, if you like to have plenty of clubs to choose from as you play your round of golf, then this could be the set for you!

While most golf club sets usually just feature about 14 clubs, this set gives you a whopping 18 clubs at your disposal. And you don’t have to pay through the nose for them either. Very reasonably priced, despite coming from a top brand. And a bestseller too.

This set has been specifically designed for taller golfers of height 6 foot one and above. All of the clubs are a full inch taller in length than regular length adult golf clubs. And better yet it features the latest golf technology to give you the best possible distance and performance with each club

The set includes a full titanium driver which features a large sweet spot, which is great. There are also some number 3 and  number 5 fairway woods which are very forgiving and can give you some really high flying distance shots.

There’s also a number 4 hybrid which is much easier to hit right compared to the long irons it’s substituted for.

There’s also a 5 iron pitching wedge, and a bonus sand wedge, which are just great for those long controlled shots.

We also like how the blade style putter is really lightweight and how it features an alignment system to help you get those putts just right.

We also love how it features non-slip dual compound grips, so you get an excellent grip with each club.

It’s available in two color options, red or blue, and comes complete with a good quality carry bag.

Remember to ensure that you have selected the tall carry size if you decide to buy this particular set.

And don’t worry, Confidence Golf isn’t the new brand on the block - it has been around for over 40 years.

It may only feature 10 clubs rather than the more usual 14 clubs, but as we mention in our buying guide, there is no official minimum number of clubs you can take on a game.

Besides at this price, you could always buy additional clubs if you ever feel you need them.

All of the clubs in this set are an inch longer than regular golf clubs, which makes them perfect for taller gents. And they’re all fitted with a regular flex steel shaft.

What we love about this set, is that rather than featuring a load of difficult to hit longer irons, there’s a 24 degree hybrid wood. Much easier to use.

You also get a 35 inch blade putter, a selection of 5 easy to hit irons numbered 6, 7, 8, 9, and a pitching wedge.

Then there’s the 460cc alloy driver, which is just great because it has 10 degrees of loft, and plenty of forgiveness.

The set also comes with some nice accessories too, such as an upgraded golf club with automatic pop out legs so it can stand, complete with a padded shoulder strap, plenty of storage for your valuables and even a raincover.

Best Golf Clubs For Tall Men 6’ & Up Buying Guide

As promised here’s your buying guide.

Shaft Height for Tall Men 6’ & Up

For taller men, shaft length is certainly one of the key things to be concerned about. And choosing the right shaft length all comes down to your wrist-to-floor measurement…

Men who are 6 feet tall and have a wrist-to-floor measurement of 35 inches can manage with a standard length driver, and more specifically 44 inches for a steel one, and 45 inches for a graphite one.

Clubs aimed at taller men with a longer wrist-to-floor measurement are typically just one inch longer than their standard size counterparts.

Clubs Required in Each Set

When it comes to tournaments, the rules say that you can take a maximum of 14 clubs onto the course with you. There is no minimum number however. And if you’re just playing a friendly game rather than a tournament, maybe your opponents won’t mind if you take more than 14 clubs.

The key to deciding which clubs you need is choosing the right combination of clubs, You will need to cover all of your distance gaps. Which basically means that if there’s any gap between how far your driver hits and how far your iron hits, you will need the right balance of fairway woods and hybrids, with different lofts, to cover the distance gap.

Of course, if you’re a beginner and you’re still not quite sure what clubs you need, then you can buy a standard set that you can always add to as the need arises.

Some brands have a far greater reputation than others on the golf course, and we were sure to include some of these in our shortlist. As a general rule, the better the brand the better the quality. But please bear in mind that club sets from the top end brands can cost considerably more than their lesser known counterparts.

Value For  Money

Like many other things, golf club sets can really vary in price. You can get some for as little as $160, and others that can cost nearly $800. The biggest factors influencing the cost of a golf club set are the number of clubs and the brand. We recommend that you check prices as you go along.
